Opening and Closing the Till

How to open and close the till in Diinr.

Opening and Closing the Till

Managing your till is a crucial part of daily operations. Diinr provides clear processes for opening and closing your till sessions, ensuring accurate financial tracking.

Opening a New Till

Before you can start taking orders and processing payments, you need to open a till session. This typically happens at the beginning of a shift or business day.

Once the till is open, you can begin processing transactions.

Closing a Till

Closing a till session typically occurs at the end of a shift or business day. This process finalizes the financial data for that period and prepares the till for the next session.

Important Notes:

  • Permissions: Only authorized users (typically Admins or Managers) can open and close tills.
  • Reopening Recently Closed Till: In some cases, if a till was closed accidentally or needs to be reopened for a short period, the system might allow you to "Reopen Last Closed Till" within a certain timeframe (e.g., 3 hours). This is useful for minor corrections without starting a completely new session.
  • New Till Session: If a till cannot be reopened (e.g., it was closed too long ago), you will need to start a new till session.
