Managing Inventory Items

Learn how to create, edit, and manage your inventory items in Diinr.

Creating and Managing Inventory Items

Inventory items are the building blocks of your menu items. They represent the raw ingredients and components that you track in your inventory. You are able to create a 1-1 relation between an inventory item and a menu item or a variant item - this would be considered a 'unit item'. This means that every time you sell a menu item like 'Sandwich' it'll deduct the stock of the inventory item 'Sandwich' by 1.

Alternatively you can create a recipe for a menu item - this would be considered a 'recipe item'. This means that every time you sell a menu item like 'Sandwich' it'll deduct the stock of the inventory items in the recipe by the quantity of the ingredients.

Creating an Inventory Item

There are two ways to create an inventory item:

  1. From the Inventory List page in the Back Office Workspace.
  2. From the Menu Item page in the Back Office Workspace. (Only available if you want to create a unit item)

Editing an Inventory Item

To edit an existing inventory item, simply click on it in the Inventory List. This will take you to the full edit page, where you can modify all of its details, including its name, unit of measurement, and cost.

Automatic Stock Adjustments

Diinr automatically adjusts your stock levels based on sales. When you sell a menu item, the system will look at the associated inventory items (either a single unit item or the ingredients in a recipe) and deduct the appropriate quantities from your inventory. If an inventory item's stock level reaches zero, any menu items that depend on it will be automatically marked as unavailable until the stock is replenished.
