Clocking In and Out

How staff members clock in and out of shifts in Diinr.

Clocking In and Out

Diinr's time tracking feature allows staff members to easily clock in and out of their shifts, ensuring accurate payroll and attendance records.

Clocking In

To begin a shift, a staff member needs to clock in:

Important: When the first user clocks into a POS workspace, if there is no active till, the system will automatically open a new till session. If a till was recently closed (e.g., within the last 3 hours), the system might offer to reopen it instead of creating a new one.

Clocking Out

At the end of a shift, staff members need to clock out:

Till Closing Prompt: If the staff member clocking out is the last one to do so for an active till session, the system may prompt them (or an administrator) to close the till. This is an important step to finalize the till's financial data for the day.

Auto Clock-Out

Diinr may feature an auto clock-out mechanism for staff members who become inactive in the POS workspace for an extended period. This ensures that time records remain accurate even if a staff member forgets to manually clock out.

  • Notification: Staff members may receive a notification warning them of an impending auto clock-out.
  • Automatic Action: If no activity is detected after the warning period, the system will automatically clock out the inactive staff member.

Icons for Quick Identification

  • Clock In/Out Button: Often represented by a
clock icon or a user icon with an arrow (➡️).
  • Workspace Switcher: As mentioned in the Workspaces Overview, the POS workspace is often indicated by an
Open Lock icon and the Back Office by a
    Closed Lock icon.
